About the role 

Working in a team you will be responsible for on-premises Windows and Cloud platform systems (AWS) supporting RingGo, our UK leading brand of cashless parking.

The role will involve supporting and maintaining the RingGo environments, providing 2nd/3rd level support to our production services, working closely with the Engineers, Networking, Operations and Solutions Architect teams in an Agile environment.

It will also involve providing support for the implementation and migration of services into AWS.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide expert technical support of Windows Server Systems
  • Provide some technical support of Linux Server Systems
  • Maintain on-premise systems whilst help migrate to the AWS cloud
  • Mentoring junior team members
  • Manage patching / vulnerability assessments and remediation
  • Work with architects on best practice for system design and operation
  • Maintain and optimise performance of the servers
  • Identify and take ownership of potential platform issues
  • Maintaining the highest availability and performance of our 24/7 services
  • Must be able to provide out of hours cover when necessary (on-call rota)
  • Manage load balancers
  • Provision of evidence for internal and external audit (PCI & ISO) requirements
  • Involvement on platform infrastructure projects
  • Writing and maintaining technical documentation


Requirements

  • 5+ years as a dedicated System Administrator in medium/large enterprise environment
  • A very good knowledge/experience of Windows (VMWare / ESX)
  • Experience with recent versions of VMWare virtualisation
  • Good knowledge/experience of AWS cloud
  • Linux knowledge preferable
  • In depth CLI knowledge of Debian, SSH, systemd, Apache, and Nginx
  • Shell scripting
  • A good understanding of networks
  • Experience of working under PCI-DSS compliance and ISO27001
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
  • Understanding of Agile Methodology and use of Kanban
  • Understanding of Atlassian Jira
  • A full, valid UK driving license and car is required
